Nothing but the kitchen sink

This sink has been sitting under all of the dirt and demolition for 10 months, progressively looking worse and worse.

It was finally time to hook up the plumbing fixtures, so I spent a day cleaning, scrubbing off rust, and re-enameling it. The new faucet helps too ...

Would love to know what Jenny used to re-enamel her sink.  We have one exactly like it (down to the cabnet underneath) and are trying to decide how to save it.

As long as the sink basin is in good shape, any enamel paint should do the trick for the rest. I used a spray enamel from the local hardware store. From what I understand about the sink itself, like the inside of a clawfoot tub, the part that is exposed to water requires re-firing to repair if it is chipped. Anything painted over existing chips will just chip back off with use.
